KCMA CERTIFIED
Are KCD cabinets Severe Use certified by KCMA?
KCD cabinets meet the performance requirements of the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA). A certificate is available upon request.
At this time, we are not certified under the new KCMA Severe Use standard.
However, it's important to note that up until recently, the ANSI/KCMA A161.1 Quality Certification was the recognized industry benchmark for cabinet durability—even in high-demand environments. Our cabinets are proudly certified to this standard and have consistently demonstrated reliable performance under everyday residential use.
In 2024, KCMA introduced a new, more rigorous Severe Use certification designed specifically for environments with extreme wear and tear, such as multi-family housing or institutional settings. This updated standard includes more intensive performance testing—such as increased cycle counts, enhanced impact resistance, and more demanding chemical and cleaning durability requirements.
We’re currently exploring this new certification to evaluate how our products align with the updated testing criteria. While we’re not certified just yet, this is a standard we’re actively reviewing for the future, especially as we continue to expand our offerings and support customers with varying project needs.
